Tiles in End of Trip Bicycle Facilities

Tiled Amenities    End of Trip facilities

With a growing number of employees cycling to work, "end-of-trip" facilities are becoming a necessary extension in the work-place.
Landlords are being pressured to upgrade their building amenities, providing high-quality showers, change rooms and ventilated lockers.

A recent study by Jones Lang LaSalle (commercial real estate agency) showed at least five office towers in Collins St alone were in the throes of creating health club-style amenities, because of demanding tenants wanting to facilitate the growing army of employees cycling to work.  ANZ building, as an example, has upgraded their amenities by increasing the number of bicycle racks, showers and lockers in Collins Place, Melbourne.  Australand, AMP and Investa have also joined the Collins street bathroom blitz.

Spaces allocated for "end-of-trip" facilities are often located in the darkest and dingiest parts of the building (i.e. basements).  With no natural light, the interior requires ambient lighting and a design appeal that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Ceramic Solutions has assisted with many end-of-trip developments through-out Melbourne, providing feature tiling in shower zones and change rooms.

Ceramic Solutions extensive non-slip range ensures reliable and permanent protection from slipping.  And because most of Ceramic Solutions range is available with HT, cleaning is easier and unwelcome odours are removed.

The "Emotion" tile series from Agrob Buchtal is a popular choice for public amentities, based on its non-slip features and visually uniform solutions, allowing for beautiful colour combinations to generate a buildings visual identity.  (Below left: Emotion non-slip range available in six colours; Below right: ChromaPlural range).
